What is ROOTED?   

ROOTED is a catalyst for life change through discussion in a small-group environment, a safe space for biblical exploration, and practical learning experiences. The weekly readings and gatherings will teach you what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through Scripture, prayer, worship, generosity, and service.

Who is ROOTED for?   

ROOTED is for anyone who wants to grow in their spiritual walk with Jesus. Whether you are new to following Jesus, have been following him for years, or are just beginning to explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus, ROOTED will help you connect with God, the church, and your purpose.

What is the difference between ROOTED and small groups?

ROOTED groups are an on-ramp to small groups. As you get to know the other people in your group and journey together, you will share important aspects of your life over ten consecutive weeks. ROOTED groups that commit to ten weeks together are already in a perfect place to start a new small group, and so we strongly encourage you to try ROOTED before joining an open small group.

Can my current small group participate in ROOTED together?

Yes, your current small group can go through ROOTED together. However, there is a required training session for all facilitators before ROOTED begins. The most effective ROOTED group size is 10-12, so if your group is smaller or larger, we may ask you to include others or form multiple groups to provide the best possible experience. Contact our Adult Ministries Office to learn how your small group can participate in ROOTED together.

What about my kids?  

Kids' programming is available through BK Plus for children ages 12 months to grade 5. Dinner is not provided, so please plan to feed your children before or after programming. A light snack will be provided.

When do I get my materials?

You will receive your workbook at the first ROOTED meeting. Your facilitator will have your materials and walk you through how to use them.

How will my ROOTED group be chosen?

Our ROOTED team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-12 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage, forming groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographics of those who register. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups that we feel will provide the best experience for all who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee we can accommodate all friend or facilitator requests.

What is the commitment? What if I need to miss a week?  

We understand that attending ROOTED for ten consecutive weeks is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth investing in the entire process. If you know you will miss more than two meetings, please wait until the next session of ROOTED. The ten weeks are a cumulative experience, so we ask that every participant commit to honoring one another by attending every meeting.

How do I register?

Registration is easy! Once registration opens for the upcoming session, click the registration link and follow the steps. You can access the ROOTED registration by clicking "Join ROOTED" at the top of this page under the small groups logo. 

Is there a cost?  

The cost is $25 per person and includes all sessions, a workbook, and related materials, as well as the celebration dinner at the end of the ten weeks.

BK Plus is available for all ten sessions at an additional cost of $100 per family. 

Are scholarships available?

We do not want finances to limit your involvement in ROOTED. Scholarships are available for those who would like to participate but cannot due to financial constraints. Contact Stephanie Buckland for more information about applying for a scholarship.
