What to Expect

Welcome to Berean!

Are you wondering what it’s like to attend a service? What to wear? How long a service will last? What your kids will do? We understand that you have questions when visiting a new church and we want you to feel right at home.

What type of church is Berean Baptist Church?

Berean is a gospel-centered community of hope with the Bible as our foundation. Our community gathers for worship at two campus locations (soon to be three) in the south metro area. Although we meet in different places, we are all part of the same church.

When and where are the services?

As a multisite church with locations in Burnsville and Lakeville, we provide a variety of convenient times and places to attend a service. The Burnsville Campus has services on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 8:30, 9:00, 10:30, and 11. Or watch online here.

The Lakeville Campus, which currently meets at Lakeville North High School, has a Sunday morning service at 10:30 with a live band and simulcast message delivered from the Burnsville Campus. While the meeting places may be different, it’s all the same Berean experience.

*Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all campuses are currently meeting at the Burnsville location.

Covid-19 Procedures

We have made several adjustments to the way we meet in person to help keep everyone safe and healthy. These procedures continue to evolve as we get more information about the virus.

We have limited our room capacities throughout the building and require those attending weekend services and kids programming to reserve seats online. Entrance and exit paths are clearly identified, and families are seated in a way that allows for better social distancing during services. Masks are required for those attending. Masks are available at the door if you need one.

Reserve Seats

If you need assistance with your registration, call Berean's office at 952.432.7168 Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. or Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Commonly Asked Questions:

Is everyone required to reserve a seat?

We have limited our room capacities throughout the building to provide for appropriate distancing. To help us maintain those numbers, we require those attending weekend services and kids programming to reserve seats online.  Registration opens each Monday at 9:00 a.m.

What should I bring to worship service?

Bring the confirmation email either (on your phone or printed)  to show at the worship space entrance. You will also need a mask and may want to bring a bible, pen, and paper since we will not be passing these items out to limit touchpoints.

What can I expect when I arrive?

  • Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each service. Attendees will not be allowed into the building prior to that time.
  • Worship space doors will open 15 minutes prior to each service to allow our Clean Team time to sanitize the spaces.
  • Your entire party must be together when you enter the worship area to be seated together.
  • To maximize the number of people we can seat while allowing for proper social distancing, Ushers will seat you in the order you arrive from the front of the worship space to the rear.

What about my kids?

Programming is available on Sunday mornings for kids ages 0-3rd grade. We have limited capacity in our kids' rooms, so pre-registration is required. Once at church, you will be directed to Kids Check-in where we will help you check in your children, give you a pickup tag, and direct you to the correct room.  Go to the Berean Kids page for more on what we offer for kids, preteens, and youth.

For more information on how to register your kids and what to do when you arrive, watch this video from Tanner, our Berean Kids Director. Click here to learn how to use the Church Center App.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

We get it, things come up, plans change. That's OK. We have a way for you to let us know so we can release your reservation. Just log back into the system using the link provided in your confirmation email and cancel your reservation or email   for help.

What are your cleaning procedures?

Following every worship service, kids program, or group meeting, our clean team sanitizes all rooms. There is also limited building access including service in the Berean Cafe. The toddler cry room, nursing room, and restrooms have capacity requirements posted.

What should I wear?

There's no dress code for attending services at Berean, so wear what makes you feel comfortable. Some attenders dress casually and some dress up. It's all good!

What happens when I arrive?

When you arrive at a Berean campus, you’ll enter a lobby where you’ll be welcomed by one of our greeters. Before the service starts, you can grab a cup of coffee from the café. If you have children, you can check them into our Berean Kids ministry check-in station. If you have questions, someone at the welcome center can provide answers and help you find your way.

What about my children?

Our Berean Kids ministry provides an amazing experience during every service at every campus. Visit the Berean Kids check-in station, and our team will register your children and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. During the check-in time please let us know if your child has any allergies or special needs. At the end of the service, show your parent pick-up tag to the room director in your child’s classroom, and we'll return your child to you. If we need to contact you during a service, your parent pick-up number will be displayed on the LED screens to the left and right of the stage.

What is a service like?

We always start our service with a time of praise and worship. We offer both modern and classic worship styles at the Burnsville Campus on Sundays. Modern services are available on Saturday night and at the Lakeville Campus. After worshipping together, we will share a few announcements about how you can be connected to what’s happening at Berean and then continue our worship through giving. Most weekends Pastor Roger or Pastor Tony will preach a relevant message from the Bible. Our service closes with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer. The whole service will last 60 to 70 minutes.

The first step to getting connected is our First Connection class.

Whether you are looking to learn more about who we are, begin serving, get baptized, or become a member, First Connection is the place to catch the vision and values of our church and discover how you can be connected to what God is doing at Berean.
