Take about minutes during your missional community gathering to discuss what God is teaching you and how he is leading you in light of the weekend sermon.

General Sharing: How did you do on the Christmas quiz that Tony introduced at the beginning of the sermon this week? What are some fun family traditions that you do over the Christmas season? Are there any traditions you have that incorporate your faith and the nativity story?  

Application [We lose focus when we divert our attention away from God and focus on ourselves or our circumstances]: What circumstances caused Zechariah to lose focus on God? What should have been his mindset in that situation? What circumstances do you find causing you to lose focus? What causes those circumstances versus others to be what causes you to lose focus? What are some ways that you can regain focus in those moments?

Application [we find our voice when we are quick to claim God’s voice in our lives]: What are the lies that you are believing in the circumstances that cause you to lose focus? What are some of the promises of God that you can proclaim to regain focus? Is it easy for you to verbally proclaim the promises of God around others? What reactions have you seen when you do this among Christians and people of other beliefs? Is there any advice you would like to give to the group?
