Take about 45 minutes during your missional community gathering to discuss what God is teaching you and how he is leading you in light of the weekend sermon.
General Sharing: What was challenging to you about Tony’s message this week? Was there anything that stood out as directly applicable to something you are going through?
Application [We win when we invite God into the battle]. Read Matthew 4:1-11 (Jesus’ temptation). What were some of the lies that Satan was presenting to Jesus? How do we see those same lies presented to us today? How do they relate to our identity? What is the tactic that Jesus uses to combat these lies? How is this inviting God into the battle? What are some ways we can do this when we find ourselves in a battle?
Application [Our identity is based on what He has done and who He says we are]. What are some of the identities we form when we base them on things that we have done? How does this strategy work when we fall into temptation and failures? What does it mean to resist the devil and to submit ourselves to God in James 4:7? What has God done that we can put our identity in? What makes that most difficult for you?
