Take about 45 minutes during your missional community gathering to discuss what God is teaching you and how he is leading you in light of the weekend sermon.
General Sharing: For you who heard the sermon this weekend, was there a specific concept your found yourself reflecting on afterward? Did it cause you to take any actions outside of your norm? Was there anything from the sermon you wish you understood better or new how to apply better? Does anyone in the group have any insights into this?
Application [When you trust God in the good times you please God]. Have you ever met someone who was living a faithful life and everything seemed to go their way? How would you describe their faithfulness, what did they do that made them faithful? What was their attitude towards God? Have you had periods in your life where you would have fit this description? How were you able to appropriately praise God during this time? What are some of the challenges we face in remembering to trust God during the good times?
Application [When you trust God in the bad times you please God]. Have you ever met someone who was living a faithful life and nothing seemed to go their way? Describe their character during this time, what are things they did that showed them to be faithful? How do we handle this apparent unfairness in contrast to the faithful where everything went their way? In a world where the good don’t always get good and the bad don’t always get bad what are we as Christians to strive for? (To please God by trusting him)
