Take about 30 minutes during your missional community gathering to discuss what God is teaching you and how he is leading you in light of the weekend sermon.
General Sharing: How did you rely on God this last week? Were there any moments from this last week where you wish you would have? Was there a point from the sermon this week that you kept reflecting on afterward? How do you plan to implement that going forward?
Application [The bag of righteous acts will always be too heavy]. What leads us to believe that if we live righteously God will grant us the life we want? Is it something in our culture, the church, or perhaps the way we read the bible? How have you tried to implement this mentality in your own life? What was the result? Was there a bible verse, mentor, or sermon that made you question this and guided you to drop the bag of righteous acts?
Application [Faith is about trusting God]. What are some of the promises we put in God’s mouth? How do these lead to us getting angry or disappointed with him? What are some of the truths that God has promised that we can be confident in? How do those relate to the way we live our everyday lives? In what area are you currently struggling to trust God? Does anyone in the group have a bible verse that might help in that case?
