No going back to what doesn't exist.

General Sharing: Wes started this week’s sermon by comparing old things that got replaced with new things (KODAK). Are there any memories you have of old things that have now been replaced with new things? Any that you miss? Any that you are grateful have changed? Is new always better?

Application [Christ is greater because He is in heaven]: How confident would you be in a priest who interceded with God for you by working to offer sacrifices over and over again? What would limit your confidence in that system? Read Hebrews 7:25. What comfort do you find in knowing that Christ is in heaven and he has direct access to the Father? How do we move this from being intellectual knowledge to being heartfelt transformation?

Application [Christ is a final sacrifice]: What does a salvation by works mentality look like in a person’s life? Have you ever fallen victim to that way of thinking? In our culture, what leads us back into thinking we need to earn our salvation? Discuss the white T-shirt illustration. We work to cover things up. Christ washes us clean. Do you struggle to accept that Christ is the final sacrifice, that God doesn’t remember your sins? Think, if our relationship with God was anything else it would be a works-based religious system.
