There is no doubt that the teenage years are far different from the infant, toddler, preschool, and elementary stages of a child's development. There is a new level of maturity and capability, plus there are changes in attitude and how teens relate to their parents.

The teenage years can be difficult for parents as the dynamic between them and their child shifts. Cochran gives us two reasons why this happens and some advice on how to interact with our teens. Know that if this is the season of life that you are in, you are not alone!

Cochran writes:

Many parents have shared with me that they struggle to connect with their teenagers on a deeper level. Like many Christian parents, your heart’s desire is for your teenager to know and love God, to play a role in their spiritual growth, but it seems like there’s a barrier between you and your child.
