Connecting:

  1. What was a high point and a low point from your past week?
  2. We are in a new sermon series studying the book of 2 Corinthians called “Through it All.” Has there been anything from the first two sermons that you have found yourself meditating on?
  3. Is there a topic or question you really hope is covered in the series at some point?

Application: Trust is built over time.

  1. Read 2 Corinthians 1:12-22. What are some of the relationships that matter most to you?
  2. Is there a specific event or situation that defined those relationships (such as team members, a sickness, a fight, an accomplishment, etc.)?
  3. Have you ever done anything you regret that tainted one of those relationships?
  4. Were you able to repair it? What are some of the steps you took or the attitudes you had?
  5. What attitudes and heart do you see displayed in 2 Corinthians 1:12-22 that would lead to healing or the ability to be reconciled?

Application: Trust is grounded in God.

  1. Read 2 Timothy 3:10, 1 Thessalonians 1:5, 2:9. As a group, define the word integrity.
  2. Who are some of the people you know who have demonstrated this character trait? What are the things they did to display this?
  3. Based on what we’ve read in 2 Corinthians, 2 Timothy 3:10, and 1 Thessalonians 1:5, and 2:9 why does integrity and Christian go together? Instead of just, “the Bible says so,” try to figure out why is this a natural fit.
  4. How does integrity build trust? Why do you think trust must be the foundation of any relationship?
  5. How does having a trusting character among non-believers enable you to display Christ? If someone asked you why you have integrity, what would you tell them?
