Our Kids Are Back!

by Tanner Pinkerman on October 19, 2020

At last! After a six-month hiatus, we have been able to open the doors of Berean Kids on Sunday and Wednesday. What a joy it has been to see families return to campus and reunite with each other.

Here are some sweet things I’ve observed:

Berean Kids Volunteers rock!

Well, I already knew that. But the excitement, eagerness, and joy of our volunteers have been precious. Our volunteers are smiling big - even behind a mask or shield, as they welcome kids into the classrooms to sing, play, and learn.

The flexibility and graciousness of each volunteer have been a huge support and encouragement to the Berean Kids staff. We sure missed our volunteers, and it’s so great to see them and serve alongside them again!

The kids are excited!

One four-year-old exclaimed to me “I’m going to church today!” as he walked through the BK halls on opening weekend. His joy and excitement said it all.

Kids were so excited to come through the hallways, proudly wearing their security tags and searching for their classrooms. The smiles on the faces of these kiddos are such a refreshing view. Each week we’ve seen additional families return to Berean Kids and the eagerness and energy are evident and encouraging.

Berean families are super!

We just kicked off our first Family Service, entitled “Back to School Jam” and many families came out to participate. The feedback included exuberant cheers of “that was great” and “best night ever!”

We are already active in the planning stages for “Jingle Jam” which will be on Dec 16.

We can’t wait!

Having Berean Kids back in action during this new season has been challenging and yet so rewarding for our staff. We are overjoyed to have the opportunity to see, interact with, and invest in kids for the Gospel.

For those kids who have not yet returned to the building, our at-home weekly video lessons have been fun to prepare and produce.

 We love our Berean Kids!

We savor the thought of having a day that we can be fully together again. But for now, we are grateful and excited about where we are.

Welcome back, Berean Kids!
