Your Child's Small Group Leaders

by Tanner Pinkerman on February 28, 2019

We recently held a Berean Kids Volunteer Connection Event where we gathered small group leaders (SGLs) who serve with Kids from Infants to Preteens. It was great to see our volunteers experience community as they gathered around tables with others who serve the same age/grade as them. They had an opportunity to bounce ideas off of each other, seek perspective on strategies, and share challenges and celebrations. It was an awesome time to invest in and encourage our Berean Kids family!

We discovered some significant perspectives on knowing, loving, engaging, and developing kids. Check out these highlights:
  • The relationship between a kid and an SGL paves the way toward the future and faith of that kid. And it's not because the SGL knows all the right answers but because God wired us for relationships. We are connecting kids to something bigger than themselves: a community of faith!
  • The best SGLs are not the best because they are the coolest people you’ve ever met. They’re the people who are real and authentic.
  • Your few won’t remember every small group conversation you’ll ever have, but they will remember more than you think. The words your few will share in small group may seem like small things, but they have tremendous influence.

Here in Berean Kids, we love our volunteers and are so grateful for their investment in the lives of our rising generation. It's a joy to watch little ones discover that God loves them and has a plan for them.

To know, love, engage and develop…for the gospel!
