- Why is being truthful such a big deal to God? (we as individuals and as a community of faith, are meant to reflect the God of truth)
- Pastor Wes listed several ways we can bear false witness [statements that don't reflect our heart, false statements that sow discord, false promises, false teaching, and false worship]. Which one do you recognize in your life? Why do you think that is a struggle for you?
- In Psalm 5:8-10, the psalmist says that his enemies "flatter with their tongue." Are you ever tempted to be less than truthful, to flatter either yourself or someone else? Why? How could you respond differently in those situations to remain truthful and loving?
- How does your life bear witness to the truth of Jesus Christ? What opportunities do I currently have to bear witness to the truth of Jesus in word or deed?
